Clover
Fall 2024
Dec 2024
Dear Reader,
In this publication, our writers dive into a vast range of topics pertaining to style in the modern world. Cebula and Francis reflect on their fashion evolution while studying abroad last year, Fealy and Liang contemplate their initial impressions of Middlebury’s trend culture, and Lara studies an emerging fad that brings sporty streetwear onto the high fashion scene.
Our contributors share personal anecdotes related to global conversations, allowing for unique perspectives that prompt rich conversations. We hope that while reading Clover you are able to expand your definition of “style” and come to understand fashion as a lens through which one can interpret the social, political, and cultural constructions of the world.
This issue contains work from students in the classes of ‘28, ‘27, ‘26, ‘25.5, ‘25, and ‘24.5, ten of which are first time writers for Clover. In addition to preparing this magazine (our first in a print format), we also organized a successful “Thrift Pop-Up” and worked with the MiddStore to model their new merchandise this fall.
Furthermore, we interviewed students around campus about their outfits and collaborated with Evo, one of Middlebury’s student-led dance crews, to highlight their fall show entitled, Evolution Island. You can read more about this performance on our website, middclover.com, under the “Blog” tab. On behalf of all of us, thank you for your support!
With love and gratitude,
Sierra Cameron & the Clover Team
